No. Rock Paper Stars is a skill-based competition platform. Outcomes are determined by player skill — specifically your ability to read opponent patterns, apply differential scoring strategy, and manage risk across rounds — not by chance or a random number generator. This is the same legal framework used by fantasy sports and other skill-game platforms.

Real-money play is available in most US states where skill-based competitions are permitted by law. A small number of states restrict or prohibit paid skill games; the app will notify you at registration if real-money play is unavailable in your location. Free play is available everywhere. When in doubt, check your state's laws or contact us.

Absolutely not. Free matches and free Bracket Tournaments are always available at no cost. You can choose to compete in real-money competitions at any time, but there is no obligation to do so.

Rock Paper Stars uses differential scoring — not every win is worth the same:

✊ Rock — 3 points (high risk, high reward)
✌️ Scissors — 2 points (balanced)
🖐️ Paper — 1 point (safe, steady)

The first player to accumulate 10 points wins the match. This means you can win fewer rounds but still take the match by playing aggressively with Rock.

Bracket Tournaments are single-elimination competitions with 4, 8, 16, 32, or 64 players. Players are seeded and matched in a March Madness–style bracket. Win your match to advance; lose and you're out. Tournaments fill on a first-come, first-served basis and start as soon as the bracket is full.

Each round gives you 15 seconds to make your throw. If the timer expires, the round is counted as a timeout and no points are awarded to either player for that round. Repeated timeouts may result in a match forfeit. A push notification will fire when your next match is about to start so you never miss a round.

Winnings are credited to your in-app wallet immediately after each match. You can withdraw to your verified bank account or debit card from the Wallet screen. Withdrawals are typically processed within 1–3 business days. Identity verification (KYC) is required before your first withdrawal to comply with payment regulations.
